4 seasons on 45 seconds

1. jimdaly9817 February 2011, 18:39 GMT +01:00

Stumbled across this one - thought you might like it.

1946. xymonau29 May 2012, 10:42 GMT +02:00

No bedbugs, or I'd be scratching right now. The sheets were clean, but they smelled soapy.

I have found Comfort Inns in this country to have a reasonable standard. But they aren't the cheapest. I seem to have become a motel konnosser in recent years, with various workplaces sending me all over the country. And particularly since I moved here. We're just that bit too far from Brisbane to do the round trip in the same day - although I did by plane once. The fact that I can't drive at night any more also causes me to have to stay places longer.

I used to think it was glamorous staying in hotels until I had to do it so often. It's nice for a change, but it does wear thin if you're away for too long or too often.

1947. happyture30 May 2012, 7:13 GMT +02:00

I dont stop in hotels very often now so it dont matter to me any more, but if i have to then i would only stay at a trust house, hey Dezzie what about pitching a tent up,,,,that would be better for ya, nothing like sleepin under the stars :O)

1948. xymonau30 May 2012, 10:28 GMT +02:00

With the rest of the homeless? It's just not the same any more. I used to love camping. A little three man tent and a rolled up foam mattress, cooking snags over an open fire. It was great fun. But there are too many maniacs around these days.

1949. happyture31 May 2012, 7:35 GMT +02:00

In Oztralia, Maniacs no way,,seen the adverts, come to Oztralia, sun fun and smiling faces, 4 star hotels, lovely home from home food, and no Maniacs,,,,cheap rates if you can sheer sheep's

1950. xymonau31 May 2012, 7:58 GMT +02:00

Hmm. I shall remind you of this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backpacker_Murders
and his cousin recently did a thrill kill in the same place. I would avoid anyone with that surname.

The country is full of loonies. I don't mean mentally ill people, although we have our fair share of those. I mean bad, nasty and evil loonies, and with all the speed and ice and other drugs, life is getting very unsafe.

No, don't come here, Mikey. You woodent be happy. Look at me - sipping fizzy grape juice on a day that's to die for, lolling back on the sunlounge in the middle of autumn to the singing of birds. Miserable!

(Actually, it's cold and raining and I hurt my back, so I couldn't get to work this morning. It's no better now, either.)

1951. happyture31 May 2012, 8:04 GMT +02:00

We had a Pomgolian Dame Carol Black at the conference. She was very good. And a Septic - Ethan Watters - who was also very good. I really enjoyed the whole thing. Here's a link to the ad for sponsors before the event.

Scroll down and you'll see the venue and a blurb about those two. All the other stuff seems to have been removed. There were a lot of excellent speakers on a diverse range of subjects, all centred around mental health in the workplace, work as a treatment for mental health, and myths about the value of things like debriefing and the symptoms of mental health. I'm definitely applying for a scholarship to the next one, and begging my boss to let me go.

They finished off with a stand up comedian, Fiona O'loughlin, who talks about being a former alcoholic. Nothing former about it. She was under the influence to the point where I was scared she'd lose her balance or fall off the stage. She was still very funny, although the American was a bit confused by her humour, I think. I was watching him. The day before, Richard Fidler, who used to be one of the Doug Anthony Allstars, but is now a radio journalist, conducted a fabulous sessipn interviewing about six people on stage, and it was so interesting and entertaining. I'm really pleased I was able to go.

1957. happyture10 June 2012, 10:13 GMT +02:00

Wel well well, looks like a great place, and you enjoyed yourself also, cant get any better than that :O)

1964. xymonau11 June 2012, 11:52 GMT +02:00

What are monkey nuts in Pomgolia? We used to have a lot of date palm trees in Toowoomba, and the date stones looked like little coconuts. If you crack them open, after they dry out, they taste a bit like little coconuts, too. We called those "monkey nuts".

I think fate chose you han happropriate bed, seein as wot you has turneded out to be.
