What do you see when you look out of your window?

We have moved here in Berlin a few days ago, all boxes are unpacked and we are beginning to feel at home. So I thought it might be a nice idea to let you see what it looks like when we look out of our living room window now:

@2: Jay, Berlin is a really green city with lots of trees along the streets and several large forests within the boundaries of the city (there was a wall around some 20 years ago which included the forests, too, fortunately). This photo was shot some 1.000 m away from where we live now, so we have moved nearer to this bench to have a nice place to rest when we get old. But taking pics for RGB keeps you very young, so the bench will have to wait...
Your new place looks really nice, great that you had the chance to move there.
@3: Miguel, what a fantastic sight. I always loved wide outlooks to the horizon. I suppose people like me living in big cities oflen are longig for wide spaces.

I gotta wait till the weather clears up, get rid of the embarrassing spider webs and then I'll stitch together a panoramic view from a tripod just outside the window.

Looking sunny and mild. I'll try to set something up that I can post.
Update: When the sun got up where I wasn't shooting straight into it, the high cloud cover moved in and messed up all the color. I could do a moody monotone but I think I'll wait for the sun tomorrow.

@9 Maybe those clouds are sponsored by Google because they are afraid of getting competitors to their street views? ;)

Could very well be. The clouds blow into the Central Valley from the Bay Area and Silicon Valley where they are located.
Wikipedia lists Google as being "a multinational public cloud computing, Internet search, and advertising technologies corporation"
Must be some of their cloud computing. :)

Ok, here we go.
I set up a tripod right outside my window (Google view http://screencast.com/t/aqaRba5pb3 )
I took a series of 56 photos that stitched together into a 190° panorama where the wall at my back appears to wrap around me.
The original file was 164 megapixels and 72MB (18,379 x 8,937)

The brown door is our house entrance. Luckily it looks nearly as green in front of the house as in our backyard and we are especially happy that there is no road. This makes it very quiet - no traffic noise at all, we're really happy that we have found this place.

@17 It's been 35 yrs since I have been to Berlin. I can see from these pictures that it is nothing like what I remember. The stone and rubble has been replaced by a pleasant environment.

I love Berlin as a city - it's architecturally very rich & diverse. It's green, clean & I love those pollution-busting trees that line many streets...

Cris, it is really like Dan describes - it depends heavily on where you walk around in Berlin. There are dense streets in the centre with more graffities and dirt all over. But the greatest parts look quite friendly with thousands of trees (of very different species) seaming the streets.
This one was taken not very far from our place, too, and looks even greener at summertimes.

After 35 years it would be nice of you to drop by again, but I must admit we have never been to the States either. Long-time flights are rather painful for me.

They only can download little pictures with rain on it ;).
I'll show you my view from the livingroom at last year summer. This is a part of Hamburg. There was for once no wind going along. We had to buy another parasol cause the red one was (again) damaged by a storm . The current model is white and orange striped and it looks as good as last year (better...)

Hi Gesine, you have a nice place. I know, Hamburg is famous for strong winds, but then they bring lots of fresh air... The cake looks very tasty, too. I don't know, with a fresh piece of cake in front of me, if I would have the power to leave it untouched at the plate and make a photo first...
