Inspiring images

1. mzacha18 August 2011, 13:50 GMT +02:00

There are some photos that make me "inspired". Sometimes they are just beautiful or surprising, other time creative or somehow important. Let's share them! ;-)

For example:

And the creative billboards:

@26 Thanks Michal, some amazing ideas there!

They're all great links, Michal! The first waterfall picture is wonderful.

Amazing buildings. I hate to see the destruction and waste.

Those images remind me of Pripyat (in the Chernobyl pretty much abandoned disaster zone).

The link wouldn't work for me before, but I finally saw them. How stunning! The ladybug is gorgeous, but the photos with marbles are amazing. What a great prop!

the making of a family portrait :)

Great idea.

39. lennie13 November 2012, 11:44 GMT +01:00

Did anyone post these yet ?:

They were created for an ad series for the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

People didn't really expect it to look like that.

40. xymonau13 November 2012, 13:02 GMT +01:00

Excellent photography! They look like rooms or pathways.

What about this one?

That's a clever concept, and quite effective for some images, too.

Un-posed street art shots (including my favourite "Somaliland").

Saw this exhibition in Stockholm by Jacob Fellander. http://www.jacobfellander.com/i_want_to_live_close_to_you.php
A bit like the idea jazza pointed to above (hundreds-of-tourist-photos) except that Fellander travelled the world and made multi-exposures of different places on the same analogue negative. Not sure I liked it though, a bit too apocalyptic for my taste.

45. xymonau8 February 2013, 10:00 GMT +01:00

I love the pigeon, Michal, and there are some other really appealing images there. Marmit, I really love those. Apocalyptic is good for me!

46. mzacha15 February 2013, 18:54 GMT +01:00

World Press Photo best shots. But if I may be honest, I do not understand, why some of those images are so good... For exaple number 17 - the boy with the face hidden behind his hand. Is it really so stunning?

Well, they are news photos, and perhaps it was rare or captured the story perfectly. The content is emotional and a good capture. Quality is not wonderful. I like a lot of them. Shows that the only news that is newsworthy is bad news, though. Thanks, Michal.

48. marmit16 February 2013, 13:09 GMT +01:00

Paul Hansen photographer with the major Swedish newspaper "Dagens Nyheter" won both this years category Press Photo of the Year and the titlel News Photographer of the year 2010 and 2013. Here is the link to the original site in English: http://www.worldpressphoto.org/

The winning photo is truly stunning - the story around it equally sad. I enjoy his photos every day in the paper, but they come out even better online. Some of the stories are just unbearable.

49. xymonau17 February 2013, 11:19 GMT +01:00

HDR in the winning photo makes it super-real, but it was a crisp shot to begin with, which would have been hard to get under the circumstances. He's obviously a master of his craft.
