I have been revisiting the fluoridation topic recently, and I am so peeved at my government, and the government of the United States - and anyone else who allows fluoridation of their water. it seems we are not even getting pharmaceutical grade fluoride - which is a potent poison, anyway. We are getting the stuff they wash out of the chimneys at aluminium and fertiliser plants - sodium silica fluoride or hydrofluorosilicic acid (I think I've got the spelling right or close). In effect, we are being fed toxic waste - they can't carry this in metal containers, but have to carry the liquid form in rubber-lined tankers as it eats through every kind of metal. It also contains mercury, lead, radium, and a whole range of other contaminants. No testing has ever been done - at least, not with public release of the information - in either the US or Australia. Who cares if it's in our drinking water? I do. Cancer rates (commonly osteo-sarcoma, but others as well), heart disease and brittle teeth and bones, as well as thyroid problems are just a few of the things that have a much higher rate in those places which have fluoridated water. When the fluoride is removed, dental caries decrease, and general health improves. If you think your government wouldn't lie to you, do some research.
Here are links to a couple of videos on the subject, but it doesn't take a lot of searching to find more:

@163 - I MEANT safety pins. Ferrets are wriggly little blighters. That's the only way you'd keep 'em on a line! We also call them pegs.
Gesine, I know exactly how you feel. It rained here every day for about a year, and I was ready to leave the country. Thankfully, our winters are dry, and the rain has eased off, with lots of bright, cold days. It has been a cold winter here (for us, anyway), and for once in my life I'm looking forward to summer, but that's only because I now have an air conditioner. Also, I need the long days, as I can't see to drive at night any more.
@168 - Ferrets are my friends,,,they just smell like some ones died, and so i has to baff um weakly sometimes munthly,
