Always a popular thread at the other place.
I'll kick this one off.
It was my birthday the other day. I was expecting a bottle of my favourite perfume (I've been dropping hints I was running low) and woke up to a Land Rover Freelander on the drive. I've always wanted a 4x4 and now I've finally got one courtesy of my Mum and my Significant Other Half.
Okay, so it's not a new one and it's not an all singing, all dancing model, but that doesn't bother me. It's a freaking Freelander, dudes!

Mine's a white soft top like the one in the foreground.
Downside - I'll have to fund my own bottle of smellies. Oh hold on - there's Mother's Day coming up...

Thanks, guys. My goodness, my brain is rusty! But there were a few things I did well, so that was a relief. Because I have to complete what is a two year full time course in twelve months, the assignments are a bit of a challenge. I have ten to do before the end of July. I have completed many of the same subjects previously, and done more than the equivalent, but I never got my piece of paper, as I got seriously ill twice, and finally gave up. I needed to work, I needed to raise my son, but I didn't need to study. That was twenty years ago, and every one of those brain cells has died or moved to a far country! LOL
The one bad thing is that I know I am going to have a speeding fine sent to my boss! I planted my foot to get past some traffic, looked at the side of the road, and saw the flash as the radar took a little photo of me. It will be in colour, and detailed, and my boss is going to laugh or cry, but I will have to pay the fine and lose points from my licence. Serve me right. I have belted down that highway so many times, I deserve to have been caught before now. The joke is that until I hit my 50s, I was a conservative driver, who hated speeding, and looked down on those who did so. My, how we change! :) Particularly when we live miles from nowhere.
Ah - congratulations, Michael! And Christa! It's so nice to reach another mark, and you deserve it. You have some great photos in your gallery!
I have over 600 downloads now :D
this site is really popular
Your images are of a high quality, Christine, so I'm not surprised. Well done!
I am a Daddy! Little baby girl called Beau, born last Tuesday 31st. Very, very proud of mum and daughter! :)
Oh, wow!! What an exciting time for you, Jon. I wish your little daughter all the best for her life ahead.
Naturally, we would love to see some photos!
Congratulations! It is great that everything went well and mom and baby girl are healthy.
I am celebrating that a publisher of educational books about photography and computers has accepted my manus for a book about High Dynamic Range (HDR) photography. I will spend the coming time finishing the text and then it should get "out there".
The book will be in Danish - as the first Danish book about HDR.
You can see samples of my pictures and read reviews of old lenses in English at my homepage: www.hdrfoto.dk.
Wow - well done, John! If I could read Danish, I'd buy it. When you have a copy, post a photo of it for us to see?
If anyone knows about HDR technique, it's you Jon. Kudos! :D
Great news John, Congrats, for a long time I admire your photos. Why not try to publish your website in English. It looks stunning but I cant read it :(
Ty
114: I will not post a copy of the book, sorry - it is an E-book and it should bring in some money you see :-) But I will post a copy of the front page for you to see. hehe.
115: Ty - I try to keep the pictures natural and to avoid the the most comon pitholes with HDR.
116: Well, I have only started to translate my reviews of old lenses (M42, Tamron Adaptall and OM's); but maybe I will translate the guides once they have been updated to match the E-book. I am working on an English version of the site; but things take time . . . .
I have a new toy to play with - Corel Painter 12. I'm lovin; it! :D

What you have done with HDR John is remarkable. Now you're putting your knowledge in a book. Congratulations on your achievements!
Lynne you have so many creations that are mega-hits. Now you have a new toy to boot! Going to be hard to top your swirly tree. :)
I'm not the mega-hit queen, Cris. That title belongs to this lady:
