Always a popular thread at the other place.
I'll kick this one off.
It was my birthday the other day. I was expecting a bottle of my favourite perfume (I've been dropping hints I was running low) and woke up to a Land Rover Freelander on the drive. I've always wanted a 4x4 and now I've finally got one courtesy of my Mum and my Significant Other Half.
Okay, so it's not a new one and it's not an all singing, all dancing model, but that doesn't bother me. It's a freaking Freelander, dudes!

Mine's a white soft top like the one in the foreground.
Downside - I'll have to fund my own bottle of smellies. Oh hold on - there's Mother's Day coming up...
Well done John and Gesine!
Welcome back Christine.
:0)
Welcome back, Christine. I love your Spring graphic!
Gesine - fabulous work! I agree with Michael - if I have my heart attack, I hope you're around!
4000 pictures here for me ;-)
Wow! That's a huge number! Well done, Michal. And you have an excellent gallery, too.
Congratulations Michal! You have some very fine shots.
Congrats, Michal - carry on!

I'll ring my own bell. I reached 80,000 downloads. I'm really pleased. I'll never be Sanja, but I'm happy to walk in her shadow.
That's a fab number and a great and well deserved achievement, Dez :) Now head on to that 100 K milestone...

congrats to you both - you are really moving stuff in here :-)
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrate it ;-)
The same to you, Michal.
Thanks, Michael and John.
Happy Easter to you too, Michal

The arrival of some new glass :-)
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM Lens

Looking forward to trying them out - its a nice sunny day today too!
Congratulations, Colin! You're going to have no excuses now. :oP

Surely they can't be serious. I don't believe in global warming, but I do think a better use could be made of paper - e.g. for students in poorer countries - than a wild gimmick like this.
I'll celebrate if it doesn't happen, but I know there will be some who take it seriously. Fortunately, postage costs money.
1000+ images in my gallery :-) Some nutter keeps accepting them...
Well done, Colin! You have some great photos in your gallery. Now for the next thousand! :o)
The purchase (FINALLY!!) of my first digital SLR!
It's an entry level canon that's now on sale and within my budget. Got it today and I'm enjoying it immensely.
So now I feel like I can start contribute to RGB again after ALL THESE YEARS!
I've also got a couple questions - would the lenses from my old canon EOS-1 be compatible with this DSLR? And what do I do with this old dinosaur EOS-1? Are there enthusiasts out there that would want an old-school film camera?
Congratulations on your purchase. What did you buy? It's nice to know we can look forward to some more excellent photos!
I'll let someone else answer the questions, as I'm very challenged technologically. Auto focus is my best friend.
Helloooooo! I bought the Canon EOS 1100D that's on sale at harvey norman. I was looking for a camera under $500 and was about to buy one last week; I'm glad I waited!
Congratulations, I wish you a lot of fun with it :-)
A couple of years ago I bought the 1000D on special at hardly normal's, too! I saw the ads. Was that with two lenses? It was a bargain, I thought. Tax time is the best time to buy.
You're going to really enjoy learning how to get the most out of it. I haven't scratched the surface with mine. There's always something else to distract, and where I live currently there isn't much that is nice to photograph. I'm moving soon, and hopefully things will change.
One lens, 18-55mm... but I'm hoping my other old ones fit. Just not game to try them yet.
